Earlier on Twitter, Ambassador Hassan Soroosh extended his gratitude to the Honourable Melanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada "for standing in solidarity with the Afghan women and girls who are denied access to the most basic human rights in Afghanistan."

Ambassador Soroosh further highlighted that "the courageous women and girls in Afghanistan deserve to be supported in their struggle for justice and human rights." This morning on Twitter, Hon. Minister Joly stated the following: "Canada condemns the Taliban’s suppression of women’s liberty in Afghanistan. "As the Taliban continues this act of discrimination, the prospects for a better life are being denied to girls. Access to education is a human right to which every woman and every girl is entitled."
