Ambassador Hassan Soroosh participated and spoke at an event which was organized by the Toronto-based Afghan community

On August 15, 2024, Ambassador Hassan Soroosh participated and spoke at an event which was organized by the Toronto-based Afghan community to condemn the third-year mark since the Taliban takeover of Kabul and to express solidarity with the people of Afghanistan.
Ambassador Soroosh spoke about the current humanitarian crisis, human rights catastrophe and the climate of uncertainty and vulnerability in Afghanistan under the Taliban.
Ambassador Soroosh also spoke about the ongoing international efforts in support of a political process and highlighted the importance of continued advocacy efforts by our diaspora community for an inclusive, representative and peaceful future for Afghanistan.
Ambassador Soroosh expressed his gratefulness for Canada’s continued humanitarian, resettlement and advocacy support for Afghanistan as well as for the continued commitment and engagement of the Afghan diaspora community and friends of Afghanistan in Canada in support of the people of Afghanistan particularly women and girls.
Ambassador Soroosh stated that the Embassy of Afghanistan in Canada remains committed to working closely with the government of Canada, friends of Afghanistan and our diaspora community to further facilitate our collective efforts in support of the people of Afghanistan and in defence of our shared values.
Other speakers also spoke about various aspects of the current multifaceted crisis under the Taliban and highlighted the need for continued collective efforts to reverse the current dangerous trajectory in Afghanistan in support of a peaceful, inclusive and prosperous future for all Afghans.
