AMBASSADOR SOROOSH DELIVERED OPENING REMARKS ON AFGHAN EID BAZAAR
OTTAWA: MAY 19, 2026 A vibrant Eid Bazaar was held in Toronto on May 19–20, 2026, and attended by the city officials from Ajax and Whitby, community leaders, vendors, and small businesses, including women-led enterprises.
Ambassador Hassan Soroosh delivered opening remarks, thanking the organizers for creating a valuable space to celebrate Afghan heritage and showcase the community’s talent, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
He emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses, especially newcomer women entrepreneurs, and highlighted the Afghan community’s contributions across Canada in business, education, healthcare, public service, and the arts.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Government of Canada and friends of Afghanistan for their continued support of the people of Afghanistan, particularly newcomers building new lives with hope and opportunity.
