AMBASSADOR SOROOSH PARTICIPATED AND SPOKE IN THE AFGHANISTAN WINTER RELIEF EVENT CO-HOSTED BY THE CARLETON AFGHAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION

Ambassador Soroosh spoke about the current multifaceted crisis in Afghanistan including the growing humanitarian needs. He stressed the importance of sustained assistance at different levels under a comprehensive approach that addresses both immediate needs and long-term impact on the most vulnerable segments of population.
Ambassador Soroosh thanked the Afghan diaspora community and friends of Afghanistan including the co-organizers of the event for their true passion and sustained support for and solidarity with the people of Afghanistan.
Ambassador Soroosh also expressed his gratefulness to the government of Canada for the ongoing humanitarian, resettlement and advocacy support for the people of Afghanistan.
Ambassador Soroosh presented CASA members with a certificate of appreciation for their efforts and commitment to raising fund and mobilizing support for those in need including women and children across Afghanistan.
The event also included an exhibition of Afghan art and culture, cultural performances and Afghan music.
