Ottawa: On March 21, 2026, an event was hosted by the Afghanistan-Canada Council in collaboration with the City of Ottawa to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, Nowruz, and the New Year 1405.
In his brief remarks, Ambassador Hassan Soroosh spoke about the coincidence of Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz as two meaningful occasions that carry profound cultural and spiritual significance.
He expressed his gratitude to the Afghanistan-Canada Council for organizing this event, as well as other advocacy, cultural, and social programs that promote understanding and create meaningful opportunities for community engagement.
Ambassador Soroosh also expressed his appreciation to the City of Ottawa and Deputy Mayor David Hill for their continued support of community-based initiatives. He further expressed his hope that this strong collaboration will continue to grow in the years ahead.
