Ambassador Soroosh's message on Canada's response to the devastating earthquake in Eastern Afghanistan

OTTAWA: SEPTEMBER 02, 2025

Earlier on X, Ambassador Hassan Soroosh wrote the following on Canada's response to the devastating earthquake in Eastern Afghanistan:

"We are deeply grateful to Canada for consistently being among the first nations to respond to humanitarian emergencies in Afghanistan.

This devastating earthquake has deepened an already severe humanitarian crisis, displacing entire communities including women, children, and the elderly who are now forced to endure these difficult moments without shelter or basic necessities.

Immediate support is required including shelter, food, clean water, medical supplies, emergency healthcare as well as search and rescue resources. "
