Canada Renewed its Assistance to Afghanistan

Ottawa- November 24, 2020

During the 2020 Afghanistan Conference in Geneva, the Honorable Karina Gould, Minister of International Development of Canada announced that "the Government of Canada is pledging $270 million over the next 3 years (2021 to 2024) in bilateral development assistance to Afghanistan."

The renewed assistance includes important areas such as education, health, human rights and women's empowerment.

We extend our gratitude to the people and government of Canada for renewing assistance to peace and development in Afghanistan and for true friendship and consistent partnership with the people and government of Afghanistan.
