Ambassador Hassan Soroosh delivered brief remarks at a gathering co-organized by the Afghan Athletes of Ontario Association and the Pul Media to commemorate the Association’s 10th anniversary and to recognize the recent accomplishments of Afghan athletes at the 2025 Asian Youth Championship and the Islamic Solidarity Games.
During the event in Toronto, the Ambassador and other speakers expressed their sincere appreciation to the Association for its continued commitment to promoting sports and relevant activities among youth, including newcomers from Afghanistan. Speakers highlighted the notable successes of Afghan athletes at regional and international competitions and emphasized the important role of sports in fostering a sense of belonging, strengthening social connections, and promoting shared values within diverse communities.
The event also paid tribute to the dedication and achievements of Afghan athletes and activists from different generations who are currently residing in Ontario, acknowledging their contributions to sport and their role as sources of inspiration for younger athletes.
