به اطلاع مراجعین محترم رسانیده می شود که سفارت جمهوري اسلامي افغانستان در اوتاوا به روز سه شنبه مورخ 1 جولای 2025 مطابق با 10 سرطان1404، به مناسبت روز ملی کانادا تعطیل می باشد.ـ

ټولو محترمو مراجعینو ته خبر ورکول کیږي چې په اوتاوا کې د ا.ا.ج سفارت به د سه شنبې په ورځ چې د 2025 د جولای له 1 او د 1404د چنګاښ له 10 نېټې سره سمون لري، د کاناډا د ملي ورځې د عمومي رخصتۍ په مناسبت تړلي وي.ـ

The Embassy of Afghanistan in Ottawa will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 on the occasion of Canada Day.

AMBASSADOR SOROOSH PARTICIPATED AND SPOKE AT A POLICY PAPER LAUNCH EVENT HOSTED BY THE UNIVERSITY OT OTTAWA

On June 16, 2025, Ambassador Hassan Soroosh participated and spoke at a policy paper launch event hosted by the Center for International Policy Studies (CIPS), University of Ottawa.

Ambassador Soroosh spoke about the current multifaceted crisis in Afghanistan including the worsening humanitarian situation, human rights catastrophe, political deadlock and escalating security threats under Taliban rule in Afghanistan.

He stressed the importance of a coordinated and unified international approach to Afghanistan as outlined under the UN independent assessment on Afghanistan. He further highlighted the significance of providing opportunities for meaningful participation of all Afghan political and civic forces in the relevant international meetings and processes on Afghanistan’s future.

Ambassador Soroosh conveyed his deep appreciation for Canada’s unwavering and continued support of the Afghan people of Afghanistan. He also expressed his gratefulness for Canada’s pivotal role in keeping international attention focused on the human rights situation in Afghanistan and in actively supporting the human rights agenda and the political process in the ongoing international discussions on Afghanistan.

Other speakers and participants included representatives from Global Affairs Canada, members of the diplomatic community, scholars, and long-standing friends of Afghanistan in Canada.

The policy paper entitled “Afghanistan at a Crossroads: Policy Recommendations for Canada and the International Community” is authored by Dr. Faramarz Tamanna, Visiting Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and also a Research Associate at CIPS. It offers an analysis of the current tragic situation in Afghanistan and outlines a series of actionable recommendations across key areas, including human rights, the humanitarian response, counter-terrorism efforts, and the political process.

Parts of this policy paper are directly informed by the speeches and intellectual contributions of the speakers and moderators who spoke during the Afghanistan Conference, held on September 18, 2024, at the University of Ottawa by CIPS, in collaboration with the Embassy of Afghanistan in Ottawa.

AMBASSADOR SOROOSH PARTICIPATED AND SPOKE IN THE INAUGURAL EVENT OF THE OTTAWA CONSULTATIVE PROCESS (OCP)

OTTAWA: MAY 17, 2025

Ambassador Hassan Soroosh participated and spoke in the augural event of the Ottawa Consultative Process (OCP) which was held in Toronto with the presence of many scholars, activists and former diplomats from the Afghan diaspora community.

Ambassador Soroosh spoke about the current tragic situation under Taliban regime in Afghanistan and stressed the importance of collective actions and coordinated advocacy efforts in support of an inclusive, representative, peaceful and prosperous future for all Afghan citizens.

Ambassador Soroosh further highlighted the role of OCP in coordinating and amplifying the collective voice of Afghan diaspora community in Canada ensuring that their perspectives and concerns are effectively represented and contribute meaningfully to ongoing international discussions and efforts related to the future of Afghanistan.

آقای حسن سروش، سفیر افغانستان در کانادا به تاریخ 17 می 2025 در برنامه افتتاحیه پروسه مشورتی اوتاوا اشتراک و سخنرانی نمود. این مراسم با حضور تعداد زیادی از اساتید، شخصیت های فرهنگی و اجتماعی، فعالین حقوق بشر و دیپلماتان سابق افغان مقیم کانادا در شهر تورنتو برگزار شد.

آقای سروش ضمن تشریح وضعیت غم انگیز کنونی در افغانستان تحت تسلط طالبان بر اهمیت تلاش های جمعی و فعالیت های هماهنگ دادخواهی در حمایت از یک آینده فراگیر، صلح آمیز، مرفه و مبتنی بر خواست و اراده مردم افغانستان تأکید نمود.

سفیر افغانستان نقش پروسه مشورتی اوتاوا را در ایجاد هماهنگی و انعکاس صدای جمعی جامعه دیاسپورای افغانستان مهم خوانده و تأکید نمود که این پروسه می تواند زمینه ای را فراهم نماید تا از دیدگاه ها و نگرانی های جامعه دیاسپورا راجع به آینده افغانستان به خوبی نمایندگی صورت گیرد و از مشورت های آنها به صورت مؤثر و معنی دار در مباحث و تلاش های مرتبط با فغانستان استفاده به عمل آید.

OTTAWA: MAY 4, 2025

Ambassador Hassan Soroosh joined the opening of the Red Pashmina Walk which was hosted by the Ottawa Chapter of the Right to Learn Afghanistan.

Ambassador Soroosh extended his gratitude to the Ottawa Chapter and all other chapters and groups for hosting this important initiative in various cities across Canada this year as a powerful manifestation of solidarity with Afghan women.

Ambassador Soroosh spoke briefly about the situation of women and girls under Taliban rule and stated that Afghan woman and girls, like women and girls everywhere, deserve the chance to learn, grow, and fulfill their potential. He added that together, we must work toward a future where Afghan women and girls are no longer silenced or sidelined, but empowered to speak, grow, and lead.
