با عرض تسلیت به مناسبت فرارسیدن روز عاشورای حسینی، به اطلاع عموم مراجعین محترم سفارت جمهوری اسلامی افغانستان در اوتاوا رسانیده می شود که سفارت و بخش قونسلی آن به روز پنجشنبه مورخ 25 جون 2026 مطابق با ۴ سرطان 1405 به این مناسبت تعطیل می باشد.

Ambassador Soroosh joined community activists and friends of Afghanistan on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for a gathering in solidarity with the women and girls of Afghanistan

On June 21, 2026, Ambassador Hassan Soroosh joined community activists and friends of Afghanistan on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for a gathering in solidarity with the women and girls of Afghanistan organized by the Network for Cooperation and Empowerment of Afghans in Canada.

Participants condemned the increasing restrictions on Afghan women and girls including the recent detention of women and girls in Herat based on their appearance and dress, as well as the violent crackdown on peaceful protesters.

The Ambassador thanked the organizers and participants, noting that their presence reflected a shared commitment to ensuring that the voices of Afghan women and girls are heard, supported, and defended as they continue to endure the consequences of a system of gender apartheid.

The Ambassador emphasized that the events in Herat are not isolated incidents, but rather part of a broader pattern of restrictions that have systematically excluded women and girls from education, employment, public life, and freedom of movement.

The Ambassador further stressed the importance of effectively utilizing international accountability mechanisms and ensuring that the rights of all Afghans particularly women and girls remain at the center of international engagement and decision-making on Afghanistan.

The Ambassador also expressed appreciation to the Government of Canada and to friends of Afghanistan across the country for their principled support of the people of Afghanistan, especially women and girls.

AMBASSADOR SOROOSH PARTICIPATED AND SPOKE AT THE MADE IN CANADA EXPO

From June 19–21, 2026, the Made in Canada Expo was held in Toronto, bringing together over 200 vendors and exhibitors representing a wide range of sectors from across Canada.

Speaking at the opening of the Expo, Ambassador Hassan Soroosh noted that the event provides an exciting opportunity to celebrate Canadian innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellence.

The Ambassador congratulated Mr. Kakar, a newcomer entrepreneur from Afghanistan and his team, for leading this important initiative. He noted that this achievement is a powerful reflection of the opportunities available in Canada and of the significant contributions that newcomers continue to make to the country’s society, economy, and communities.
The Ambassador also expressed his delight at seeing members of the Afghan diaspora among the exhibitors, showcasing their talents, creativity, and entrepreneurial achievements to a broader audience

Ambassador Hassan Soroosh participated in an Eid celebration event organized by the Afghan Canadian Youth Council (ACYC) in Ottawa

On May 29, 2026, Ambassador Hassan Soroosh participated in an Eid celebration event organized by the Afghan Canadian Youth Council (ACYC) in Ottawa.

During his opening remarks, Ambassador Soroosh expressed his gratitude to ACYC for organizing the gathering and for providing an opportunity to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Adha together with members of the Afghan-Canadian community and friends of Afghanistan. He highlighted that Eid al-Adha symbolizes many important values that are fundamental to social life, including respect, compassion, sacrifice, generosity, and solidarity, and serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to support one another.

The Ambassador added that the event provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on the compassion and solidarity demonstrated by friends of Afghanistan, as well as by the many activists, community leaders, and volunteers within the Afghan diaspora in Canada. He expressed deep appreciation for their continued engagement and unwavering commitment to supporting both vulnerable people in Afghanistan and Afghan newcomers as they build new lives in Canada. He emphasized that such collective efforts play an important role in fostering inclusion, strengthening community engagement, and maintaining a spirit of unity and mutual support among community members and friends of Afghanistan.

AMBASSADOR SOROOSH DELIVERED OPENING REMARKS ON AFGHAN EID BAZAAR

OTTAWA: MAY 19, 2026 A vibrant Eid Bazaar was held in Toronto on May 19–20, 2026, and attended by the city officials from Ajax and Whitby, community leaders, vendors, and small businesses, including women-led enterprises.

Ambassador Hassan Soroosh delivered opening remarks, thanking the organizers for creating a valuable space to celebrate Afghan heritage and showcase the community’s talent, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.

He emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses, especially newcomer women entrepreneurs, and highlighted the Afghan community’s contributions across Canada in business, education, healthcare, public service, and the arts.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Government of Canada and friends of Afghanistan for their continued support of the people of Afghanistan, particularly newcomers building new lives with hope and opportunity.
